He emphasized the importance of being consistent on reading the word, even during times when we don't feel like reading. Caleb mentioned 5 applications to help you get started as you read and study Scripture:1. Get a Bible Study2. Before you read, Pray3. Read a couple verses or header to header.4. Pray and ask for clarity and understanding with what you just read.5. Read the footnotes and the other linked verses.Laura talked about trauma. Sometimes, we may have experienced trauma over the years and not even realize it. Trauma is a deeply distressing experience that can have lasting negative effects on a person's mental, emotional, relational and even physical well-being. It arises from events that overwhelm an individual's ability to cope, leading to feelings of fear, helplessness, rejection, and dissociation. She mentioned that Time may numb the pain a bit, but it does not heal all wounds…Jesus does though.Mike talked about staying on the right narrow road. Sometimes driving the right road, we come access detours. This may set us back, but we must get back up and repent. Despite our failures, God chooses us. Repentance always puts us back to a place where God can restore and use us again. Accept God’s forgiveness and move forward. Psalms 51:1-5 "Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge. 5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me." In Today's sermon, we talked about the common misconceptions of obedience, performance, appearance, & salvation.
WORKING OUT YOUR SALVATION:     - Is not Performance (Lie: Obedience earns your salvation)      - Is not Appearance (Lie: Obedience proves your salvation)      - Is Response (Truth: Obedience comes from salvation)
Philippians 2:12-13 "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure."
Galatians 1:10 "For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ."
Step back and think about the motives that dictate your decisions. Are we seeking approval from God or man? Live for God, not the world.

Live at the Pace of Love - Pastor Drew Milliken
 
In today's message, we talked about the pace of love. Love has a pace, and it’s slower than you are. Love has a space, and it’s bigger than you’re giving it - Drew. We tend to be too busy in our day to day lives and sometimes we miss valuable moments connecting with others. Slowing down our pace can open the opportunity of connecting with others. For example, our neighbors are the closest to us and yet some of us can't name 3 neighbors. So go out there, love your neighbors and others deeply. Show the love of Jesus through you.
